This category is for demos and tutorials that are not Joomla specific, but can obviously be ported to a Joomla site as i have done here. Understand that all Joomla does is take existing php/javascript/etc solutions, make them "easy" to install and make the "easy" to use by providing a set of tags to use instead of working directly with the underlying code, and sometimes a module with a GUI that takes care of everything for you. While the Joomla approach IS easier, it also ALWAYS fails to reveal the true power of the underlying code. If you are willing to get your hands dirty, you can port solutions over to Joomla that no other Joomla user has because it isn't available yet. |
